2007 SOS 's inspection visit to Croatia
SOS's Andy Thompson completed a busy inspection visit to Croatia with Croatian Fed Dev Mgr Tihomir Jankovic. Many teams were visited and all were fullsome in their praise of SOS IRB Kit Aid .
Pictured with SOS's Andy Thompson are Rugby Club Zagreb wearing shirts kindly donated by RFU South Eastern Referees(Dave Broadwell).Andy now has a list of Croatian Clubs that have received SOS IRB kit(Rugby Clubs Sinj, Sisak, Rijeka,Knin,Zagreb, Makarska,Brac,Nada,Mladosat,Lokomotiva,and Zadar.
SOS also has a copy of the ambitious Croatian Federation 5 year Strategic Development Plan.The Federation want to increase the number of schools playing rugby and to develop girls/ladies rugby too. SOS will continue to support in any way that it can !
Since SOS started delivering kit in early 2006 we have delivered 1345 rugby shirts, 684 rugby shorts , 200 pairs of rugby boots and 166 rugby balls !
First inspection visit by SOS to Croatia !
In order to set up first deliveries to the Croatia , Andy Thompson recently visited Split to meet the Croatian President Branimir Marovic(on right of photo) and General Secretary Velimir Juricko(on left).
The purpose of the visit is to see their needs at first hand and to check customs documents for kit deliveries etc.Though Croatia is not the poorest nation in Europe - they still have great need of resources when trying to grow junior rugby for example in schools.
They are delighted to be part of SOS IRB Kit Aid and receiving help. As with all rugby people throughout the world Andy very much enjoyed his visit and we will be keeping you in touch with Croatia's progress.
SOS hopes to do a small intial test delivery in December - weather permitting !
